The Rest of the Coast Trip

Vacation 2008 - Just the girls.

Posted by California Banry's in

This is what we normally get when we ask to take a picture of Emee.

Emee and her cousin "T".

Chaysie with her cousins Payton and Jade.

Maryn with her cousins Peanut and Mackenzie.

Alli and my Teens. You all notice Alli is wearing blue? She's repented and will never wear red again. She's gonna kill me for that comment. If I don't come back from the trip it was no accident.

Vacation 2008 - The kids.

Here's Emee one of the few times she didn't have her phone in her hand. Isn't she beautiful without her phone blocking her face?

Chaysie - Hot as a fire cracker!

Our future model.

Is he handsome or what?

Vacation 2008 - The Coast

Posted by California Banry's in

Here are a couple pictures of the coast. You'll notice some of these, and future pictures were taken from the truck doing 80 mph. OK...maybe not 80. I am a law abiding/law enforcing kinda guy, and always obey the law.

Vacation 2008 - Kite Festival.

Posted by California Banry's in

I'm gonna change this up a bit. I hate that blogs don't give you the option of oldest to newest instead of newest to oldest...it would sure make catching up easier. I found a manual way to do it but it takes too much time, and I don't care that much to work that hard on this. Anyway, on with the story.

The first picture is the family enjoying the...kites. The kids even got to fly a kite. The last is my step-sisters daughter Taryn, or Peanut. She's eating an elephants ear.

Vacation 2008 - Continued

The first day...we're on our way.

Here's a couple shots on the trip to Crescent City. The second is Natey sleeping...he even sleeps cool.

Once at our camping area we set up and got right to work...playing. We had some pretty intense horse shoe games. Chaysie was one of the cheerleaders. The last picture is a bunch of the little ones playing in the hollow of a redwood stump.

Vacation in the Redwoods

So we are on our 2008 vacation.  I'll post as many pictures as I can.  Hope you enjoy looking at these as much as we enjoy being here...that's a stupid comment...of course you wont enjoy it as much as we are.
Casinos let you stay in their parking lots for free, so we followed the signs to this....casino.  I do believe this is the largest casino I've seen.  Las Vegas needs to be worried about this.
This is the Northern California/Oregon Coast.  Not at all like the beaches in Southern California.  I remember the first time Alli took me to the beach.  I was all excited to actually be able to swim in the water.  The water up here in really, really, really cold.  Did I mention that the water is really cold.  I was a bit upset when she layed a towel on the sand and layed down.  Anyway, it's beautiful.
Here's a small part of the family in the Tree's of Mystery park.  We scare lots of people away when we come around.  OK...dinner is ready.  More to come later.

Two Legends get together!

So I was working an off-duty detail at the Santa Monica Apple Store for the launch of their new iPhone and in walked this guy.  I know you old-timers will know who it is, but you young-timers may not.  It was taken with my phone so the quality isn't the best...and the glare off my head may blind you...but it's a cool picture.

A Day by the Pool

Posted by California Banry's in

We had so much fun today at the pool. First we had the Reese kids over for a couple of hours and we played with them. They all get along so well.

Next, Kady, Cal, O, and Tessa came over for lunch and a dip in the pool. Kady has a wonderful talent of being extremely thoughtful. She brought me a beautiful vase of flowers from my mom and dads yard on Arminta (their old house in the Valley). Thanks Kady. That was really so sweet of you. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of the kids in the pool because the Mommy's were in the pool saving the Dare Devil Owen who just jumped in! Good save Kady. He's gonna be a great swimmer.

Finally, we had our Young Women activity at the pool. Most of our YW are on vacation, including both of my big girls. Out of 45 girls on our rolls, we had 7 there plus a few visitors. YW Rock. It was a really fun day for Maryn and Natey. After everyone left, they had baths, dinner, a little movie and off to bed. They were tired little people.

Benders...Remember them? Actually they're called Hot Sticks!

Posted by California Banry's in

Remember Benders... they're hot rollers. I think I've had them since high school. Actually they're probably Laurens. Anyhow, they are so HOT when you're trying to use them that we don't actually use them anymore. I was cleaning out under the sinks and decided to toss them. Natey was with me of course ( my little sidekick) and he sat for about an hour playing with benders. I suppose this is what happens to boys who grow up with 3 big girly girl sissy's! Noticed his "gun" is there with him. He loves to play Officer Nate too!

Bracelets

Posted by California Banry's in

While Aunt Jaime and her kids and Grandpa and Grandma June and Uncle Heath were here visiting last week, we had a great time. One of the things the big girls taught the little ones to do was make these cute bracelets. They even taught Aunt Jaime and she made her and me matching anklets. We call them our BFF anklets! This is Taryn, Garrett and Maryn.

Our Bracelet Making Pro

Posted by California Banry's in

The girls learned how to make bracelets using DMC floss at Girls Camp. They taught Maryn and she's become such a pro that she can make them upside down and backwards. WOW! She thinks she's pretty cool.

Eyeliner

Posted by California Banry's in

The other day Natey got very quiet.  When I found him in my bathroom, he was in my expensive (but I never use it) liquid eyeliner.  He said "Mommy I need a towel!"  I said "Natey, I need a picture!"  He looks like a sick Bozo the clown.
While I was at Girls Camp with the big girls, Nate was awakened more morning by Natey saying "Daddy, I'm hungry"  Nate said his faced looked like this but it was really chocolate and he told Natey " I think you've already had something to eat".  I would never let him eat sweets for breakfast.  Nate just laughed out loud!  When he went downstairs, he found one of the big King Size Chocolate bars with the whole corner eaten but Natey has wrapped it back up and put it back in the fridge.  Too bad he didn't hide the evidence on his face!

Hair Do Re Do!

Posted by California Banry's in

Emalee got her hair cut by Aunt Jaime on Saturday afternoon AND Sunday afternoon.
Here is her Re-Do! She's so cute. I can hardly stand it. My baby is just beautiful!

Visiting Dance's

Posted by California Banry's in

Nate's new step sister Jaime and her 4 kids along with Grandpa and Grandma June and Uncle Heath came down for a visit this weekend. They're stopping at Banryland on their way to Disneyland. We spent Friday night in the pool. They got in around 5, we fed them real quick and then pulled them out of the pool about 8. Then Saturday we spent the day in the pool. Here we are a whole HOUR BEFORE CHURCH started all ready to go. When you're ready an hour early, you have time for a snack before you leave. Who knew! I can't get my family of 6 ready on time but when I have 8 extra people in my house, we can be ready an hour early. Go figure!!! Anyhow, we're having so much fun with them. They leave for 3 days to go to Disneyland and then we get them back for the 4th of July. We'll be in the pool again! More to post later!
Jaime's kids are Garret (7), Kelden (3), Taryn (5) and Ayla (1)
